Looking at using gouache paint in more detail for this one. I’ve always loved the bold, solid, poster-like look you can get with the opaque, matte hues of gouache, but it also does a great job of blending and creating real, true-to-life representation of colour. I decided to challenge myself and focus on skin tones, incorporating the odd hues that show up under the skin as well as the unpredictability of freckles. And I’m relatively happy with the outcome! I could absolutely do with more practice but it’s a start and it wasn’t a disaster and that’s all I can ask for really.
